Syrian American Foundation & UOSSM USA invite to meet Dr. Houssam Alnahhas, Coordinator for CBRN-TF (Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Task Force) for the Union of Medical Care and Relief Organization. He will make a presentation about the use of Chemical weapon in the Syrian conflict. He is currently in the US at Harvard University FXB Center for Human Rights working on the Burden of War Project.

He also recently presented at the NCT USA 2017 (Non-Conventional Threat) Defense workshop on the use of CBRN and IED in Syria, urging the international community to take action, he highlighted the severe shortages of medical equipment, both for response to CBRNe and training of personnel.

Who is Dr.Houssam Alnahhas?eyewitness

Houssam Alnahhas was born in Damascus, Syria. Currently, he is the Information Management Coordinator for the International Union of Medical Relief and Care Organizations (UOSSM), and the Local Coordinator for the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) Task Force. Houssam studied clinical medicine at Aleppo University, but he chose to put that on hold to practice emergency medicine in Aleppo, Syria between 2011 and 2014. During this time, he led a medical team to treat casualties and coordinated efforts between various NGOs to direct humanitarian efforts. He has now resumed his medical studies at the Cerrahpasa Medical School at Istanbul University. Alnahhas recently joined the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights to add context from his field experience and support the technical work related to the Burden of War Project.
